A very interesting game took place in Nantes. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of Souffelweyersheim (0-3) to Nantes (2-1) 74-71 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Souffelweyersheim was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Souffelweyersheim helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nantes players scored in double figures. Nantes' coach Franck Collineau allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Kevin Dinal (202-93) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Nantes' next round opponent will be Olympique Antibes on the road and are hoping to win another game. Souffelweyersheim will play against Fos Ouest in Fos-sur-Mer and hopes to get finally their first victory.
