Regular Season Round 4: Reims - Nice 59-61

A very interesting game took place in Reims. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Reims (2-2) to top-ranked Nice (2-0) 61-59 in the fight for the fifth place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Reims won third quarter 21-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Alice Nayo (186-93) chipped in 11 points. Nice's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Lakevia Boykin (175-91, college: Wake Forest) produced 17 points and power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Reims players scored in double figures. Nice moved-up to fifth place. Reims at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. Nice's next round opponent will be Avenir (#6) in Chartres. Reims' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reims.
