Regular Season Round 5: Okinawa GK - Shimane SM 67-53

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Okinawa GK (4-1) defeated at home bottom-ranked Shimane Magic (0-5) 67-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Shimane Magic was better in fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Shimane Magic 40-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Isiah Brown (203-89, college: E.Tenn.St.) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Okinawa GK. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Shimane Magic lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Okinawa GK will face again Shimane Magic (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
