Regular Season Round 4: Kotwica - AZS PGd 74-66

There was a change at the 2Liga leadership position after last games. Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league's leader AZS PGd (2-1). They were defeated by seventh ranked Kotwica (2-1) 74-66 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AZS PGd. It was a key game for the second position in Group A. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But AZS PGd won third quarter 23-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Grzegorz Arabas (191-78, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Bosnian power forward Marko Djuric (208-83, agency: Promotex) who added 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Pawel Pawlowski (196-82) responded with 17 points and point guard Jakub Derkowski (180-94) scored 14 points and 4 steals. AZS PGd's coach Marek Iglinski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kotwica moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated AZS PGd. AZS PGd will play next round against strong Notec trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kotwica will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Tczew on the road.
