Regular Season Round 4: GTK Gliwice - Znicz Basket 65-56

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Znicz Basket (2-2) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked GTK Gliwice (2-2) 65-56. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-18. But Znicz Basket won second period 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by power forward Wojciech Fras (203-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Tomasz Wrobel (186-85) supported him with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. GTK Gliwice's coach Lukasz Kopera allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by Adam Linowski (201-87, agency: Promotex) did not help to save the game for Znicz Basket. Adam Kaczmarzyk (198-88) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. GTK Gliwice moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Znicz Basket. GTK Gliwice's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Zaglebie (#14) in Sosnowiec and are hoping to win another game. Znicz Basket will play on the road against Astoria Bydg. (#10) in Bydgoszcz and hope to win that game.
