Regular Season Round 5: Shinshu BW - Tokyo Cinq R. 72-91

Date: October 18, 2014
There was no surprise in Nagano where 9th ranked Shinshu BW (1-2) was crushed by seventh ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (3-2) 91-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tokyo Cinq R.. Shinshu BW was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 53-42 including 18 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tokyo Cinq R. made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jemal Farmer (195-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Blacktop Management) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import center Will Foster (226-88, college: Gonzaga) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo Cinq R. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the ninth position with two games lost. Tokyo Cinq R. will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) and hope to win that game.
