Regular Season Round 4: Alba Chorzow - Mickiewicz 74-60

There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Mickiewicz (1-2) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Alba Chorzow (2-2) 74-60 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 38-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mickiewicz was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Tomasz Bryzek (195-86) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Alba Chorzow players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Dawid Kolakowski (207-93) responded with 18 points and guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Alba Chorzow moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with Polonia Bytom and AZS PCz. Mickiewicz at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Alba Chorzow will face Gimbasket Wroclaw (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mickiewicz will play against Pogon RS and hope to win that game.
