Regular Season Round 3: Aishin SH - Kumamoto V. 123-56

No shocking result in a game when Aishin Sea Horses (1-0) crushed Kumamoto V. (0-3) in Kariya 123-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aishin Sea Horses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 36 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Aishin Sea Horses forced 25 Kumamoto V. turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 76.2 percentage. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kumamoto V.'s players. It was a good game for international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!). American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Nigerian center Cyril Awere (211-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and John Shibata added 14 points in the effort for Kumamoto V.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Aishin Sea Horses will face again Kumamoto V. at home in the next round.
