Regular Season Round 3: Polpharma - Torun 84-73

There was a minor upset in Starogard where Twarde Pierniki (2-1) was defeated by Polpharma (2-1) 84-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 51-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Polpharma made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American Tony Meier (204-90, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Rodney Blackmon (180-91, college: E.New Mexico) helped adding 26 points. The best for the losing side was Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and American LaMarshall Corbett (188-88, college: Angelo St.) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polpharma will meet Rosa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Twarde Pierniki will play against PGE Turow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
