Date: October 18, 2014
The most interesting game of round 8 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Correcaminos (4-4) to fifth ranked Huracanes (5-3) 90-77. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 28-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 4 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 21 points during the contest. American forward Greg Smith (198, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) responded with 24 points and his fellow American import forward Kenny Kornowski (205-91, college: Walsh) scored 21 points. Correcaminos' coach Andres Contreras rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Huracanes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pioneros and Halc.Xalapa. Correcaminos at the other side keep the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Gigantes and Jefes. Huracanes is looking forward to face Panteras (#11) in Aguascalientes in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Correcaminos will play at home against Barreteros (#13) and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
