Regular Season Round 8: Halc.Rojos - Titanicos 90-85

Bottom-ranked Titanicos (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Halcones Rojos (5-2) 90-85 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-85. Halcones Rojos outrebounded Titanicos 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists and American forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 16 points during the contest. Halcones Rojos' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Michael Lizarraga (200-89, college: CS Northridge) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Halcones Rojos moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Titanicos still closes the standings with eight games lost. Halcones Rojos will face league's leader Fuerza Regia in Monterrey in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Titanicos will play at home against Gigantes (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
