Rather expected game when Handlova (1-4) was smashed on the road by Iskra Svit (3-2) 101-47 on Saturday. The game without a history. Iskra Svit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Handlova to just 5 points in first quarter and to 12 points in first half. Iskra Svit held Handlova to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 61.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Iskra Svit had a 33-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Iskra Svit especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Handlova's players. American guard Lakeem Jackson (196-89, college: S.Carolina) nailed 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Dave Coley (188, college: Stony Brook) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. Iskra Svit's coach Rudolf Jugo felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montenegrin guard Milos Djurisic (194-88) came up with 10 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Ondrej Soska (208-78) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Handlova in the defeat. Iskra Svit maintains fifth place with 3-2 record. Handlova lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Karlovka. Iskra Svit will meet bottom-ranked Nitra in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Handlova will play against Prievidza and hope to win that game.
