Regular Season Round 3: Chiba Jets - Tsukuba R. 78-59

Chiba Jets used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Tsukuba 78-59 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Chiba Jets. Tsukuba R. was better in fourth quarter 30-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tsukuba R. to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Tsukuba R. 42-27 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) contributed with 16 points and 5 steals for the winners. The former international guard Yusuke Okada (185-84) answered with 16 points and American power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tsukuba R. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Chiba Jets will face again Tsukuba R. at home in the next round.
