Regular Season Round 3: PeKa - ToPo 77-70

Peli-Karhut used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Helsinki 77-70. It looked good early as Torpan Pojat took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Peli-Karhut took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They also forced 20 Torpan Pojat turnovers. It was a great evening for American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import forward Keira Peak (175-91, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) helped adding 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Niina Laaksonen (185-85) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and international swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Peli-Karhut will play against Aanekosken in Aanekoski in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Torpan Pojat will have a break next round.
