San Salvatore (1-1) recorded a loss on the court of Milano on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Milano in overtime 80-79. San Salvatore trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-17 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 9-10. It was a great evening for forward Giulia Maffenini (174-92, agency: Two Points) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Guard Silvia Gottardi (176-78) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Latvian forward Dita Rozenberga (180-92) with 33 points (!!!) and 4 steals and guard Francesca Rosellini (175-90) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. Milano will meet Broni on the road in the next round. San Salvatore will play against Alghero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
