The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rieker KN as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rieker KN smashed Karlovka in Komarno 99-61. Rieker KN led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American point guard T.J. Bannister (180-84, college: Liberty, agency: KMG Sports Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. Croatian forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Rieker KN players scored in double figures. Center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Lukaas Hoferica added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Karlovka. Karlovka's coach Milan Cernicky gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Rieker KN (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Karlovka lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Handlova. Karlovka will play next round against SKP Banska Bystrica trying to get back on the winning streak. Rieker KN will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Levice at home.
