Regular Season Round 6: Sendai 89ers - Niigata Albirex 75-76

Another exciting game for Niigata Albirex (4-2) which played on the court of one of their biggest challengers Sendai 89ers (3-3). Eighth ranked Niigata Albirex upset home team edging them after exciting game by one point 76-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sendai 89ers won fourth quarter 19-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated also this game. Center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Niigata Albirex's coach Fujitaka Hiraoka allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and forward DeAngelo Casto (203-90, college: Washington St.) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. Niigata Albirex moved-up to third place, which they share with Akita NH and Aomori Watts. Sendai 89ers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Yokohama BC and Tokyo Cinq R.. Niigata Albirex will play against Fukushima (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sendai 89ers will play against Saitama Broncos (#12) and hope to get back on the winning track.
