Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked ViVe and 8th ranked Forssan Alku had identical 1-2 record. But Forssan Alku was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Vimpeli 83-74 on Sunday night. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Forssan Alku won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Forssan Alku 51-33 including a 42-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Breanna Salley (180-87, college: Seattle) fired 30 points and 4 assists for the winners. Mcbee Kenya chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds. ViVe's coach Jukka-Pekka Kujala used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Dequesha McClanahan (173-91, college: Winthrop) produced 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of her seven free throws) and the former international forward Minna Sten (190-87) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four ViVe and five Forssan Alku players scored in double figures. ViVe (2-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Honka. Forssan Alku lost third consecutive game. Loser Forssan Alku dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Huima. ViVe will meet at home TuRi in the next round. Forssan Alku will play against the league's leader Catz Lappeenranta and hope to win that game.
