Regular Season Round 3: PGE Turow - Polfarmex KT 91-89

A very close game took place in Zgorzelec between PGE Turow and AZS Polfarmex. PGE Turow (3-0) got a very close home victory over AZS Polfarmex (1-2). PGE Turow managed to escape with a 2-point win 91-89 on Monday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. PGE Turow made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Damian Kulig (205-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Romanian power forward Vlad-Sorin Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 22 points. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (178-89, college: St.Louis) with 38 points (!!!) and 6 assists and the other American import Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. PGE Turow will meet Twarde Pierniki in the next round. AZS Polfarmex will play against Wikana Start and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
