Maccabi Ashdod used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Hasharon 79-58. The game without a history. Maccabi Ashdod led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Ramat Hasharon's 26. Maccabi Ashdod forced 24 Ramat Hasharon turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a very good performance for naturalized American forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Allison Hightower (178-88, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 19 points and 4 steals for the winners. Coach Eliyahu Rabi's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international guard Brasheeda Elohim (180-80, college: Fayetteville St.) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Alyssa Baron (178-92, college: Pennsylvania) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ramat Hasharon. Four Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be Maccabi Ramat Hen on the road. Ramat Hasharon will play against Elitzur Ramla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
