Regular Season Round 4: TuRi - Pyrinto 83-93

Pyrinto has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Turku, where they defeated TuRi (1-2) 93-83. TuRi was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 45-34 second half run of Pyrinto. They also forced 24 TuRi turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Hendderson Brittany who scored that evening 21 points and 4 assists and forward Kaisa Lind (179-87) supported her with 19 points. Five Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Even 29 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Shafontaye Myers (173-92, college: Alabama) did not help to save the game for TuRi. Her fellow American import guard Amber Moore (180-90, college: Illinois) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pyrinto left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with ToPo and TuRi. Pyrinto will play against Torpan Pojat in Helsinki in the next round. TuRi will play on the road against ViVe in Vimpeli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
