Regular Season Round 1: Ironi Ramat Gan - Ramat Hasharon 87-83

Ironi Ramat Gan used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ramat Hasharon 87-83 on Tuesday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-7. But Hasharon won second period 30-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Ramat Gan dominated on the defensive end, holding Hasharon to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Hasharon 48-28 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Kwame Vaughn (190-90, college: CS Fullerton) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners and Bosnian-Croatian Dragan Bender (205-97) chipped in 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ironi Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Ironi Ramat Gan's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Keion Bell (193-91, college: Missouri) responded with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Kyle Cain (201-90, college: NC-Greensboro) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Ironi Ramat Gan will face again Hasharon in Hod Hasharon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hasharon will play at home against Hapoel Migd.H. and hope to win that game.
