Regular Season Round 3: Gran Canaria - Ferrol 88-58

The biggest surprise of round 3 in LFB took place in Las Palmas where host Gran Canaria (2-1) crushed Universitario de Ferrol (2-1) 88-58 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria. Universitario de Ferrol managed to win fourth quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gran Canaria had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gran Canaria especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: Robert Morris, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Gran Canaria's coach Fermin Bosa felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Denesha Stallworth (190-92, college: Kentucky) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) added 16 points respectively. Four Universitario de Ferrol players scored in double figures. Universitario de Ferrol will play next round against Perfumerias Avenida. Gran Canaria will try to continue on its current victory against Gernika on the road.
