Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both Lavezzini PR and Trieste had identical 1-2 record. But Trieste was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Parma 62-57 on Wednesday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Trieste won third quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Lavezzini PR won last quarter 12-9. Lavezzini PR had a 41-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (190-91, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Sara Giorgi (187-86) contributed with 7 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Katherine Harry (191-91, college: De Paul) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Donica Cosby (172-88, college: Oklahoma City, agency: Two Points) added 15 points and 5 steals in the effort for Trieste. Trieste's coach Nevio Giuliani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lavezzini PR (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with San Martino. Newly promoted Trieste dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Lavezzini PR will face higher ranked Cagliari CUS at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Trieste will play against Battipaglia and hope to win that game.
