Regular Season Round 3: Mann Filter - Girona 60-68

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Mann Filter (2-1) in Zaragoza. Hosts were defeated by Argon Uni Girona (3-0) 68-60. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mann Filter won third quarter 25-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mann Filter 36-24 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Nigerian-American Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (168-93, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and Latvian center Kristine Vitola (193-91, college: UTEP) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Mann Filter. Mann Filter's coach Jesus Gutierrez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Argon Uni Girona will play against Gipuzkoa UPV in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mann Filter will play on the road against Cadi La Seu in Seu D'urgell and hopes to get back on the winning track.
