Regular Season Round 3: KR - Tindastoll 95-89

An exciting game was played in Reykjavik. KR faced Tindastoll. Host KR (3-0) defeated guests from Sauoarkrokur (2-1) 95-89. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tindastoll won third quarter 26-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KR made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Ingvi Rafn Ingvarsson (-94) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tindastoll's coach Israel Martin tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. KR will meet Keflavik (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tindastoll will play against Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
