Regular Season Round 3: Haukar - Fjolnir 87-76

Haukar defeated Fjolnir in Hafnarfjordur 87-76. They outrebounded Fjolnir 50-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Emil Barja (192-91) chipped in 6 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Haukar's coach Ivar Asgrimsson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Da'Ron Sims (195-87, college: W.Georgia) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and forward Olafur Torfason (195-87) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Fjolnir will play next round against IR trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik - IR. Haukar will try to continue on its current victory against Skallagrimur in Borgarnes.
