Regular Season Round 4: Alvik Basket - 08 59-52

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Stockholm: Alvik Basket (#4) and 08 Stockholm (#6). Alvik Basket (3-1) won against visiting 08 Stockholm (2-2) 59-52. 08 Stockholm was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded 08 Stockholm 47-34 including 20 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Shawnice Wilson (198-90, college: Miami, FL, agency: Merit Management Group) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Anna Lundquist (176-96) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Karolina Mindell Kidanu (178-88) replied with 16 points and guard Olga Kjelsson (173-87) added 12 points in the effort for 08 Stockholm. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alvik Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mark Basket. 08 Stockholm at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Alvik Basket is looking forward to face Telge (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. 08 Stockholm will play against the league's leader Northland in Lulea and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
