Ninth ranked Lleida Basquet (2-1) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Ourense (2-2) 72-71 in the fight for the fifth place. Ourense was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-14 charge of Lleida Basquet, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Latvian guard Janis Kaufmanis (186-89) who added 14 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Guillermo Rejon (206-77) responded with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Chase Fieler (203-92, college: FGCU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Lleida Basquet moved-up to fifth place. Loser Ourense dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Lleida Basquet will face Palma (#6) in S'Arenal in the next round. Ourense will play at home against Blancos de Rueda and hope to win that game.
