Regular Season Round 3: Thor Thorl - Keflavik 80-75

Keflavik (2-1) recorded a loss in Thorlakshofn. Visitors were defeated by Thor Thorl (2-1) 80-75. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Keflavik won third quarter 28-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Thor Thorl especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Vincent Sanford (190-90, college: Dayton, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 8 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Emil Einarsson (196-94) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. American swingman William Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American forward Damon Johnson (196-74, college: Tennessee) added 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Keflavik. Keflavik's coach Helgi Jonas Gudfinnsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Thor Thorl will play against Grindavik (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Keflavik will play against KR (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
