Regular Season Round 4: Valga Kalev - TLU/Kalev 73-66

Valga Kalev can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat TLU/Kalev (0-4) 73-66. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TLU/Kalev won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valga Kalev made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. TLU/Kalev was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. International point guard Kristo Saage (187-85) contributed with 16 points for the winners. The former international point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and American guard Tom Droney (198-91, college: Davidson) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for TLU/Kalev. TLU/Kalev's coach Kalle Klandorf rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Valga Kalev (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place. It was TLU/Kalev's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Valga Kalev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TLU/Kalev will play at home against TU/Rock and hopes to get finally their first victory.
