Regular Season Round 5: Legia - GKS Tychy 75-76

Another exciting game for GKS Tychy (3-2) which played in Warszawa against Legia (2-3). Seventh ranked GKS Tychy saved the game by a tiny margin of one point 76-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Legia. The guests were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 23-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. Piotr Halas (190-87) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and point guard Marceli Dziemba (186-92) chipped in 15 points. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Forward Arkadiusz Kobus (197-86, agency: Promotex) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Mateusz Bierwagen (195-88, agency: Promotex) scored 20 points. Legia's coach Piotr Bakun tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. GKS Tychy moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Legia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. GKS Tychy will play against higher ranked Sokol Lancut (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Legia will play against AZS PP (#11) in Poznan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
