Regular Season Round 4: Belfast Star - UCD Marian 65-67

Bottom-ranked Belfast Star (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 67-65 loss to eighth ranked UCD Marian (2-2) in Belfast. Strangely Belfast Star outrebounded UCD Marian 45-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Preston Ross (198, college: Winston Salem) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and forward Neil Baynes (198-87) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds by American guard Ricky Taylor (195-89, college: Chattanooga) did not help to save the game for Belfast Star. Forward Keelan Cairns (208, college: Pennsylvania) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. UCD Marian moved-up to fourth place, which they share with DCU Saints and Dublin Inter. Belfast Star at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. UCD Marian's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin.
