Regular Season Round 5: Taby/Djursholm - Solna Branten 70-100

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Solna Branten (4-1) crushed on the road 9th ranked Taby Basket (1-4) 100-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Solna Branten. Taby Basket was better in second period 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Taby Basket 45-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. Solna Branten looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Forward Daniel Johansson (200-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Leo Lightner (187-96) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Hampus Ahlin (194-95) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Mattias Herlitz (190-94) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Taby Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Solna Branten have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with KFUM Uppsala and 08. Taby Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. Solna Branten will face league's second-placed Fryshuset in Stockholm in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taby Basket will play on the road against 08 Stockholm (#4) and hope to win that game.
