Regular Season Round 7: Tokyo Cinq R. - Aomori Watts 79-89

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Aomori Watts (6-2) defeated on the road 7th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (3-5) 89-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aomori Watts. Tokyo Cinq R. was better in second period 25-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aomori Watts looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts' coach Koshirashi Munakata allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American swingman Jemal Farmer (195-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Will Foster (226-88, college: Gonzaga) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aomori Watts. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Aomori Watts will have a break next round. Tokyo Cinq R. will play again at home against Aomori Watts (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
