Regular Season Round 10: Gansos - Soles 81-96

Date: October 25, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Gansos (2-7) lost to second ranked Soles (8-2) in Ciudad de Mexico 81-96 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Soles's pressure prevailed and they won that period 26-16 extending their advantage to 15 points. They made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Soles had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gansos were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Cedric McGowan (200-85, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Harrison Smith (190-87, college: Texas Southern) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Christopher Duran added 23 points in the effort for Gansos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Soles keep a position of league leader. Gansos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with seven games lost. Soles will face Abejas (#11) in Guanajuato in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gansos will play against Titanicos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
