Regular Season Round 5: ViVe - TuRi 87-100

An interesting game was played in Vimpeli where TuRi (#8) won against host ViVe (#4) 100-87 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ViVe. TuRi forced 25 ViVe turnovers. American guard Shafontaye Myers (173-92, college: Alabama) stepped up and scored 42 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and her fellow American import guard Amber Moore (180-90, college: Illinois) chipped in 26 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Breanna Salley (180-87, college: Seattle) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Mcbee Kenya scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TuRi (2-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with HyPo. Newly promoted ViVe dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Pyrinto and Honka. TuRi will meet at home HyPo (#4) in the next round. ViVe will play against HyPo in Hyvinkaa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
