Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Tochigi Brex (3-2) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Tsukuba R. (0-5) 98-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Tsukuba R. was better in fourth quarter 31-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tochigi Brex dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Tsukuba R.'s 42. Tsukuba R. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Lamar Sanders (198-84, college: Lamar) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex moved-up to third place, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Wakayama T. Loser Tsukuba R. still closes the standings with five games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Tsukuba R. will play again at home against Tochigi Brex (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
