Regular Season Round 5: Kalisz - Sudety 105-66

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Kalisz and 4th placed Sudety had identical 2-2 record. This time Kalisz used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Jelenia Gora 105-66 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Kalisz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 25 Sudety turnovers. Kalisz looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sudety's players. The best player for the winners was forward Blazej Rabe (199-90) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Pawel Piros (185-88, agency: Promotex) chipped in 25 points. Four Kalisz players scored in double figures. Kalisz's coach Piotr Czaska felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Pawel Minciel (203-88) produced 32 points and power forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kalisz. They moved-up to fourth place in Group D. Loser Sudety dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Kalisz will face Rawia in Rawicz in the next round. Sudety will play at home against Slask 2 Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
