The most surprising game was the first loss of Saint Chamond (5-1) on the court of eighth ranked La Rochelle on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by La Rochelle 84-82. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 29-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. La Rochelle looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Faycal Sahraoui (188-79) scored 29 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) chipped in 21 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (198-83) with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. La Rochelle (3-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rueil and Chartres. Saint Chamond at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Vichy. La Rochelle will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saint Chamond will play at home against Vendee Challans and is hoping to win this game.
