Regular Season Round 10: Abejas - Gigantes 67-73

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Gigantes (5-5) won against 11th ranked Abejas (3-7) in Guanajuato 73-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 40-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American power forward Sean Carter (205-88, college: Massachusetts) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. Gerrick Dana (191) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Gigantes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Gigantes maintains eighth position with 5-5 record. Abejas at the other side keep the eleventh place with seven games lost. Gigantes will face Jefes (#9) in the next round. Abejas will play against the league's leader Soles having rather not much hope for a victory.
