Rather expected game when 8th ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (1-5) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked Handlova (3-4) 87-68. The game was mostly controlled by Handlova. SKP Banska Bystrica was better in fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Handlova dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to SKP Banska Bystrica's 30 and made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian swingman Luka Drezga (196-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian center Bojan Stanojevic (203-88) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Handlova's coach Ludovit Smacko allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and the other American import guard Jared Maree (190-89, college: UTPA) added 8 points in the effort for SKP Banska Bystrica. Handlova maintains sixth place with 3-4 record. SKP Banska Bystrica at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Handlova will play against Karlovka (#9) in Bratislava in the next round. SKP Banska Bystrica will play on the road against Nitra in Nitra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
