Bottom-ranked Shimane Magic (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked Osaka Evessa (4-4) 85-77 on Saturday evening. Shimane Magic was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 29-16 charge of Osaka Evessa, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Osaka Evessa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a great evening for American swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St., agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. His fellow American import forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Joe Chapman (193-84, college: Marquette, agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) scored 15 points. Shimane Magic's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Osaka Evessa. They maintain fifth place with 4-4 record. Shimane Magic lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Osaka Evessa will face again Shimane Magic (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
