The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Torino as it allowed them to take a leadership position in A2. Torino defeated bottom-ranked Carugate at home 72-64. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Carugate won fourth quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Torino forced 19 Carugate turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American point guard Brianne O'Rourke (172-87, college: Penn St., agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and power forward Elena Riccardi (187-82) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Michela Frantini (175-83) responded with 17 points and the former international guard Susanna Stabile (178-80) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Four Carugate players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted Carugate still closes the standings with three games lost. Carugate will play next round against strong San Salvatore trying to get back on the winning streak. Torino will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked San Giovanni at Sesto San Giovanni.
