Regular Season Round 5: Chalon - Nancy 81-64

An interesting game took place in Chalon where higher ranked Sluc Nancy (2-3) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Chalon/Saor (3-2) 81-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Chalon/Saor. Sluc Nancy was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sluc Nancy's 28. American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Jason Rich (191-86) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. American point guard Darius Adams (186-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 21 points and the former international forward Florent Pietrus (202-81) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chalon/Saor moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sluc Nancy dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Chalon/Saor will face bottom-ranked SO Maritime Boulogne in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sluc Nancy will play at home against Cholet Basket and hope to win that game.
