Bottom-ranked Mulhouse Basket (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to ninth ranked Rueil (3-2) 97-65 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Rueil led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mulhouse Basket's 42. The best player for the winners was swingman Kevin Bichard (196-86) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Rueil players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) who recorded 15 points and naturalized American forward Mario Porter (198-80, college: Rider) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rueil moved-up to seventh place, which they share with La Rochelle and Chartres. Newly promoted Mulhouse Basket still closes the standings with six games lost. Rueil will meet Saint Vallier (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mulhouse Basket will play against Cognac BB and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
