There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Chalons-Reims (2-3) defeated on the road 14th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (2-3) 91-83 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 19 points after three quarters before their 37-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Chalons-Reims shot 64.6 percent from the field and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Mark Payne (202-88, college: Cal-Davis) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures.
