Regular Season Round 4: PAOK - Panathlitikos 67-48

Bottom-ranked Panathlitikos (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 67-48 loss to fourth ranked PAOK (3-1) in Thessaloniki on Sunday evening. PAOK outrebounded Panathlitikos 47-24 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Eva Katopodi who added 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. PAOK's coach Evripidis Meletiadis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Tia Gibbs (176, college: Louisville) responded with 19 points and guard Efi Kazantzidou (177-84) scored 12 points. PAOK moved-up to third place, which they share with Proteas. Newly promoted Panathlitikos still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Olympiakos. PAOK will meet Terpsithea in the next round. Panathlitikos will play against the league's leader AE Ellinikou and hopes to get finally their first victory.
