Regular Season Round 6: Hiroshima D. - Aishin SH 76-80

An interesting game for Aishin Sea Horses (4-0) which played road game in Hiroshima against one of their biggest challengers Dragonflies (3-3). Top-ranked Aishin Sea Horses managed to get a 4-point victory 80-76. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-9. But Dragonflies won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses forced 19 Dragonflies turnovers. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-0 record behind leader Hitachi SR. Newly promoted Dragonflies dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Chiba Jets and Wakayama T.. Aishin Sea Horses will play against league's leader Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dragonflies will have a break next round.
