The game in Akureyri supposed to be also worth to mention about. Breidablik (2-1) played at the court of Thor AK (0-4). Breidablik smashed Thor AK 81-55. The game without a history. Breidablik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Thor AK's 30. They outrebounded Thor AK 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Palmi Geir Jonsson (196-93) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Nate Garth (188-89, college: UCSB) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. point guard Einar Eyjolfsson (178-94) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Arnor Jonsson (185-92) added 16 points respectively for Thor AK in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Breidablik's next round opponent will be FSU in Selfoss. Thor AK will play at home against KFI and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
